2027 Weekly Draft Eligible Three Stars

2027 Weekly Draft Eligible Three Stars

The Draft Prospects Hockey Draft Eligible Three Stars is back for another week. After a heavy focus on Canadian Hockey League (CHL) players in the first couple weeks, we have our second appearance from a player in Europe. However, the CHL remains well represented with an undersized forward from the Ontario Hockey League turning heads for his playmaking and a Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) centre trying to match pre-draft hype. Finally, a potential top ten pick playing in Russia makes his first appearance in this column.

Here are the draft eligible three stars for the week of October 19-26:

Camryn Warren | RW | North Bay Battalion (OHL)

North Bay Battalion winger Camryn Warren is making scouts pay attention to his game this season with his playmaking. The undersized forward from Vaughn, Ont., has ten assists to go with a pair of goals so far in 13 games.

Though not currently ranked on the Draft Prospect Hockey 2027 Draft Board, Warren should find his way onto future rankings. The former Toronto Jr. Canadiens U16 team member potted five points (one goal, four assists) in three games during the OHL’s Rivalry Week.

Opening the week against the Sudbury Wolves, Warren’s Battalion found themselves down 4-2 in the late stages of the game. With the goalie pulled for the extra attacker, the 5-foot-10, 159-pound forward circled out from behind the Wolves net. He scanned and found a wide-open man for an easy one-timer to draw the game back to 4-3. The Wolves held on to take the game.

In the rematch in Sudbury, the Battalion got its revenge. Leading 1-0 midway through the first, Warren sped into the offensive zone, charging the goalie. The Wolves defenseman crashed into his keeper, allowing the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup gold medallist to easily tap the puck into an empty net.

Finally, Warren had an assist hat trick against the Barrie Colts in a big 7-4 win for the Battalion.

Alexis Joseph | C | Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL)

Saint John Sea Dogs centre Alexis Joseph entered his draft season with some big-time expectations. The 6-foot-5, 203-pound pivot paced the QMJHL for players in their pre-draft year with 60 points (24 goals, 36 assists) in 54 games. The second-place finisher was Sherbrooke Phoenix’s Ilya Kolmakov with 48 points (13 goals, 35 assists) in 62 games.

Joseph is currently ranked number 9 on the Draft Prospect Hockey 2027 Draft Board. The 2025-26 QMJHL All-Rookie has a point per game through 14 contests this season after being a member of the Hlinka Gretzky Cup gold medal squad in August.

While he may have a point per game, he’s not picking up points in every game. To start the week, the only way Joseph found his name on the scoresheet in a 7-3 loss to the Gatineau Olympiques was with a roughing penalty in the second period.

He redeemed himself with a pair of points in a 3-1 win over the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. He picked up a secondary assist on the game-winning goal and put the game away with an insurance marker. Despite the Armada pressing with a power play and the goalie pulled to make it a 6-on-4 advantage, Joseph was able to snuff out a pass and lift it down the ice into the empty net.

The 2025 QMJHL first overall pick opened the scoring in his team’s final game against Drummondville. Joseph set up in some open ice and quickly whipped a shot through the goalie’s pads. After an odd man rush by the Sea Dogs, the puck was loose in the crease. Joseph got a whack at it, which directed it to a teammate who got the final redirect into the net.

Sergei Skvortsov | LW | Chaika Nizhny Novgorod (MHL)

Russian winger Sergei Skvortsov has gotten a little taste of what it’s like to play in one of the world’s top leagues this season. The 6-foot, 163-pound forward has played in nine KHL games this season. Despite never getting more than 11:56 in ice time, the youngster has managed to make an impact. He scored in his first career game and picked up an assist in his second.

The skilled Russian forward is the number 6 ranked player on the Draft Prospect Hockey board and the second-ranked left winger behind fellow Russian Nazar Privalov.

This week the Semyonov, Russia native was back in junior in the MHL and did not disappoint. Breaking in two-on-one on a power play, Skvortsov set up to receive the pass from his teammate. He made no mistake with a quick shot over the sprawling goalie. Later in the contest, he doubled up after seizing a loose puck in the slot. He fired it quickly, giving the goalie no chance to react.

Skvortsov was held without a point in his next two games but responded with a pair of assists to close out the week in an overtime loss.
